Feel up to some last minute Christmas baking?

Found this lovely looking Pear and Hazelnut Tart on Cannelle et Vanille¬†via Molly Moo¬†and would love to try it out sometime…

Or these tasty looking little Pear, Hazelnut and Brown Butter Cakes (also from Cannelle et Vanille):

Hope you are enjoying whatever festivities you are part of this time of year…our Christmas celebrations are¬†not too crazy and therefore able to be enjoyed much more!¬† Looking forward to sharing the day with our fantastic families on both sides.¬† We also have friends visiting from interstate and overseas, and I love seeing them whatever time of year!¬† And some of our family won’t be in Tasmania¬†until mid-January, so the celebrations will continue then. ūüôā

Sending you all much Christmas love!

How good does this look?!

Coconut Panna Cotta with Fig Syrup – mmm!

The recipe and more images can be found on Inspiring the Everyday …I¬†saw it via Oh The Lovely Things¬†(via Teal and Tea).¬†¬†

As soon as I spot some figs, I am going to try this recipe, although you could make the syrup any flavour you like.  But that little fig looks so good!

There’s something about going to a lolly shop¬†to make you feel like¬†a kid again.¬† I love taking my boys to old fashioned lolly shops and letting them pick out some favourites.¬† And then I pick out a few favourites for me and my husband too, as they always seem to have those lollies from your childhood that bring back good memories.¬† My best friend and I made many countless trips to the local store¬†to spend our change as kids.¬† It was in the days when 20c could buy you are nice handful of lollies.¬†¬†And if you were ever lucky enough to have $1 to spend, you could buy¬†the hugest bag of mixed lollies.¬† I don’t think I ever got to do that, but 20c worth was still pretty great.¬†

So this card is a little reminiscent of my childhood…I made it a while ago for a new baby girl, but I guess it could work for almost any happy occasion.¬†

The lollies are¬†pieces of ribbon crossed over and stuck in place with double-sided mounting tape.¬† The ribbon wrappers could also make for a cute kid’s room wall art piece, if you were up to making lots of¬†wrappers and attaching them to a canvas.

Hoping you are having a sweet and enjoyable weekend.

.relax & eat something yummy. May 11, 2010

Sometimes, all I need to do is sit down and have a little treat to get me motivated again…I’m a little too¬†food oriented, I think!¬†¬†One day I definitely don’t feel guilty about that is Mother’s Day.¬† I got to sit down & have a cooked breakfast brought to me.¬† What a lovely start to the day.¬† Then given beautiful cards with¬†hand-written names, and special presents that mean much more than the gifts themselves (although the gifts were great).

Now, if you are¬†thinking this sounds a little too perfect, so it should!¬† Reason being,¬†my very first Mother’s Day in 2006 was a little, well, surprising – no gifts, no card, no mention!¬† I was probably a little ungracious (Ha! A lot!) in my response, and ended up with a handmade card later in the day.¬† But one husband has learnt very well and continues to make up for it even now.¬† And the boys are learning well!

So, when it comes to Mother’s Day, ¬†I shall have my cake & eat it too, if you don’t mind!!¬† Hope you enjoyed it too, if you are a Mum. (o:

Felt is my next favourite thing to work with after paper.¬† It is so easy to create from, and is very adaptable.¬† I have been playing around with some new designs as I have landed my first stockist!¬† (More info on that when it’s all finalised!)¬† So I’m very excited to be putting together a collection, not just of felt items, but all sorts of molto piccolo {very tiny: Italian} goodies!!¬†¬†

So here are the pics of a few new ones that have come about in the last few days.  Hope you like!

Well, 12 days have gone by since I last added to my blog.  Just want to say thanks to all of you who have been checking in on me.  Yes, we have all been a bit unwell (still have one sick little person) & we also celebrated a 4th birthday as well.  So all round, have simply not been able to sit & enjoy the luxury of a creative post.

But today, I finally get to return & enjoy a bit of craft-love.¬† I’ve been inspired by Made It sellers and have found some lovely pics that I enjoyed, so thought you might also.

Tomorrow, when the sun is hopefully out, I can take some pics of some things I’ve been working on & post them for you.

So til then, enjoy the images below!
